Takoyaki Onsen

Takoyaki Onsen (たこ焼きの湯), Okuhida Onsen, Nagano A wild onsen. To the left of the car tunnel, there is a sketchy descent through the mud using trees and a very dirty rope. Climbing back up afterward is even sketchier than going down. At the bottom, there is a spot shaped like a takoyaki pan. Hot onsen water flows out of the wall on the road side, fills part of the containers, and then continues down into the river. The whole area is dirty, with wet algae. In practice, I treated the onsen as temporarily unusable without cleaning, so I did not try the water and did not count it as a visit. The water is clear in the places where there is no heavy algae growth. On the surface of the water in the different containers, the temperature varies, and the measured range was from 38 to 45. The view is really cool in both directions, like something from a game or a movie. One way, there is an industrial scene with takoyaki-shaped forms, and the other way, there is a great view of the river, the tunnel, and another broken takoyaki platform nearby. 11.03.2026
