A cold-mineral spring (< 25 °C) heated for bathing, but anything but light in feel: a richly mineralized calcium-magnesium chloride water carrying 24.78 g/kg of dissolved solids. Neutral pH keeps the touch settled, while the chloride load — approaching ocean salinity — leaves a noticeable mineral film on the skin once the bather emerges.

277. Suruga Health Land, Shizuoka Stayed overnight. A single room costs around 8000–9000 without meals (there's info it can go as low as 5000). I'd call this a large retro hotel + super sento with onsen water. Over 1300 shoe lockers, 5 check-in counters for both overnight and higaeri guests (like an airport). Retro atmosphere but not run-down, everything's decent. Higaeri available for 1980, seemingly 24 hours but with some nighttime nuances. Inside there are several restaurants, massage, arcades, a shop, chill zones, and a gym. There were tons of baths, so we didn't parse info for each one — there may be inaccuracies in the list. Online photos match. Chart from the official website. 1. Outdoor area. 1.1. Main bath. 1.2. Five hot water tubs. 1.3. Two cold water tubs. 1.4. Sauna. 2. Indoor area. Comfortable to breathe. 2.1. Bath with iron water. 2.2. Bath with jet zones. 2.3. Lying-down bath. 2.4. Wine bath (type changes periodically). 2.5. Silk bath. 2.6. Radioactive bath. 2.7. Bubble bath. 2.8. 2 seated utaseyu. 2.9. 2 standing utaseyu. 2.10. Shallow walking bath. 2.11. Deep walking bath. 2.12. Cold bath. Very interesting place — if you're driving by, recommended to visit. Also worth considering for an overnight stay.
