About

Okuine Onsen Aburaya Honkan (奥伊根温泉 油屋本館) sits right on the Japan Sea coast in Ine, a small fishing village known for its historic funaya (船屋, boat-house storerooms built over the water). The onsen draws from the inn's own spring, run kakenagashi (flowing fresh without recirculation), and the water is noticeably smooth and silky on the skin. The open-air bath looks straight out to sea, with views that shift from sunrise over the horizon to fishing lights at night. There is also an indoor large bath and a reservable private rotenburo (露天風呂, outdoor bath) for small groups. Some rooms come with their own open-air bath on the terrace. Day-use bathing is not available; the baths are for lodging guests only.
