Hotel Zuiho is a large hotel-ryokan in Akiu Onsen, with a big indoor bath and sauna plus a Japanese garden that holds six different open-air baths, including a standing bath about 130cm deep and a waterfall bath (utaseyu). The two indoor baths, named Orihime and Kengyu after the Tanabata legend, swap between the men's and women's sides on rotation. The water is salty and warming rather than showy. Some rooms look out over the Rairai gorge below, others over the town of Akiu.
