Shikaribetsu Onsen Shikaribetsukyo Yaeijo

A free mixed open-air bath (rotenburo, 露天風呂) sitting right on the bank of the Shikaribetsukyo stream, with a small stone tub that fits four or five people. The water is a sodium bicarbonate spring, clear, soft, and slightly effervescent. Open only from July through September, it draws visitors happy to share the wild riverside setting with the forest around them.
