Rurikoh is a large ryokan in Yamashiro Onsen with a generous spread of bath options: separate men's and women's open-air baths, spacious indoor baths, and five private open-air baths that can be reserved by the hour, themed after the five-color glazes of Kutani ware (Kutani-yaki, 九谷焼). Suite rooms in the Hoshi-no-To (星の棟) wing have their own in-room onsen rotenburo. The main baths stay open around the clock. Evenings bring a taiko drum performance in the lobby, giving the place a livelier feel than a quiet country inn.
