レッドウッドインレッドウッドイン
Day-use bathing runs late morning into early afternoon (around 10:30-13:00); an older report listed slightly different hours (10:00-13:30) with a midweek closure, so specifics may vary.
Day-use bathing costs 800 yen for adults, plus 300 yen for towel rental if needed (per a 2025 visitor report). An earlier report cited 500 yen for adults and 300 yen for children, so the price may have changed.

The main bath here is carved out of a single redwood trunk, about 3.2 meters across, shipped over from California's Redwood National Park and said to be around 1,650 years old. It sits outdoors among the trees on a high pasture in Nagano, open to the sky, and on clear nights staff sometimes lead short stargazing walks. There are also small indoor baths, separate for men and women, with a paler, milky-looking water. The lodge itself is a modest wood building next to Yamada Bokujo pasture, modeled on an old American forest ranger station built to watch over redwood groves. The restaurant cooks with local Takayama ingredients and also serves a lunch menu for day visitors who come just for the bath.
