No fixed closing day, though it closes for maintenance about once or twice a year.

Adult (junior-high age and up) is ¥850 on weekdays and ¥950 on weekends and holidays. Elementary-school children pay ¥400/¥450, preschoolers (age 3 and up) ¥250/¥300. Group rates apply for parties of 10 or more. Towel rental is ¥300 from the ticket machine (the price page separately lists a ¥330 rental towel set).

A sodium-led bicarbonate-chloride blend — the classic 'juso-sen' style softened by a chloride sub-type for a faintly salty edge. At the wellhead the water carries a yellow-brown tint with a hint of salt on the tongue and a faint H₂S note that fades within hours of sampling. Weakly alkaline and soft on the skin at 7.9 g/kg dissolved solids, it sits squarely in the Japanese 'beauty-water' family.

Chikara-no-yu is a large day-use bathhouse in Fushimi, Kyoto, with eleven different baths in total (nine on the men's side). The outdoor bath runs on real onsen water trucked in from Kyoto Joyo Onsen and warmed before it reaches the tub; it comes out pale amber and leaves skin feeling noticeably smooth, which is why it's nicknamed a "beauty water" bath. Indoors there's a jet bath, an electric bath, a women-only silk bath with fine micro-bubbles, and a cold plunge kept milder than the usual sento chill. Three sauna types (infrared, a low-heat salt sauna for women, and a mist sauna) sit alongside a ganbanyoku room heated by germanium and SGE stone. It has the feel of an old neighborhood sento that keeps getting refreshed: a few worn corners remain, but the bathing areas have clearly been renovated. A restaurant, a barber shop, an akasuri scrub service, coin laundry, and a futsal court next door make it a place people settle into for a whole afternoon rather than a quick soak.

299. Fushimi Chikara-no-yu, Kyoto A super sento with onsen water, ¥750-850, about 15 minutes from Kyoto Station by public transport plus a walk. Opening hours are listed as 10:00 to 23:00 on Mon-Fri and 08:00 to 23:00 on Sat-Sun. They stamp the Kansai 41 Super Sento 24/25 stamp rally. There is a diner, a hair salon, massage, washing machines, and a small shop. The bath photos online are partial, but they match. Even though it is not far from the station, the area feels like a suburb or the edge of town. In the onsen in the evening there were a lot of people, all Japanese, mostly groups of young guys, and there were no foreigners. There is a soccer field nearby. 1. The outdoor bath is small and fairly plain in appearance, and there is no view from it. But the water is interesting, clear, with lime, and a very noticeable soapy effect. The skin on my palms quickly became very warm and soft. The temperature was 38-39. 2. Indoor area. A very strong chlorine smell makes it hard to stay inside comfortably. 2.1. Main bath with a bubble area, clear water, temperature 41. 2.2. Two jet baths for standing. 2.3. Five jet baths for sitting. 2.4. Three electric baths. 2.5. Event bath. It had slightly greenish water and some kind of smell, temperature 39-40. 2.6. Steam sauna. 2.7. Sauna. 2.8. Cold bath. The main reason to visit this onsen is the interesting water in the rotenburo and its closeness to Kyoto Station. The indoor bath is a minus for me because of the very strong chlorine smell. 30.12.2024
