Uses natural hot spring water
299. Fushimi Chikara-no-yu, Kyoto Super sento with onsen water, 750-850 yen, 15 minutes from Kyoto Station by public transport + walking. Listed hours are 10:00 to 23:00 Mon-Fri and 08:00 to 23:00 Sat-Sun. They give a stamp for the 41 Super Sento of Kansai 24/25. Has a restaurant, barber shop, massage, laundry machines, and a shop. Partial bath photos from the internet, accurate. Although close to the station, the area feels like an outskirt. In the evening the onsen was packed, all Japanese — mostly groups of young guys, no foreigners. There's a soccer field nearby. 1. Outdoor bath — smallish and fairly simple-looking, no view. But the water is interesting — clear, with limescale, and a very noticeable soapy effect. The skin on my palms got "steamed" very quickly and noticeably. Temperature 38-39. 2. Indoor zone. Very strong chlorine smell that makes it uncomfortable to stay inside. 2.1. Main bath with a bubbles zone, clear water, temperature 41. 2.2. Two standing jets. 2.3. Five sitting jets. 2.4. Three electric baths. 2.5. Event bath. Had slightly greenish water with some scent, temperature 39-40. 2.6. Steam sauna. 2.7. Sauna. 2.8. Cold bath. The main reason to visit is the interesting water in the rotenburo and the proximity to Kyoto Station. The indoor bath is a minus for me due to the very strong chlorine smell.
