Uses natural hot spring water
Open-air outdoor bath
Komorebi's own bath is indoor-only; the site markets access to sister property Yumotokan's outdoor baths (展望露天風呂・庭園露天風呂) as a separate paid add-on, and a 2026 Google review says a rotenburo would have been nice, implying Komorebi itself has none.
Enclosed indoor bathing area
Shared bathing area for all genders
Two baths swap between men's/women's morning and evening (gender-separated rotation), not mixed bathing.
Allows entry with visible tattoos
Komorebi is the smaller, more affordable sister inn to the ryokan Yumotokan on Lake Biwa, linked to it by an internal corridor. Its own bathing is indoor only, two baths, Yamabuki-no-yu (山吹の湯) and Usubeni-no-yu (うす紅の湯), which switch between men's and women's use morning and evening. The water is clear and feels smooth on the skin. There's no outdoor bath on the Komorebi side, but guests can pay an extra fee to use Yumotokan's rotenburo instead. Rooms here are simpler than at the main ryokan, which is part of why it's the more casual, lower-priced choice.
