Daimaru Ryokan has been running since 1917 in Nagayu (長湯), a spa town in Oita famed for its carbonated springs. The water flows fresh and unaltered, kakenagashi style, into outdoor baths above the Serigawa river, an indoor communal bath, and several private family baths. Guests also get free, unlimited access to the nearby Ramune Onsenkan (ラムネ温泉館, Ramune Onsenkан), a few minutes' walk away. The ryokan has eight rooms in a classic old-inn style, and breakfast is cooked with the spring water itself.
