Hotel Koryu sits on the shore of Lake Kawaguchi (河口湖), and the rooftop open-air bath is the main draw: separate baths for men and women look out over the lake, with the Southern Alps visible in the evening light. Below, a garden-side rock bath has a wilder, more rugged feel. The large indoor baths on the ground floor include a waterfall shower and a walking pool. Private baths can be reserved by the hour, and some guest rooms come with their own open-air tub.
