Classification

Calcium-Sodium Bicarbonate-Chloride-Sulfate spring

A calcium-and-sodium-led bicarbonate spring layered with chloride and sulfate sub-types — the classic Japanese bicarbonate style, with a faintly salty edge and quiet sulfate body. Weakly alkaline and soft on the skin, it sits in the established beauty-water family. A generous 140.5 mg/kg of metasilicic acid leaves the kind of silica film that makes skin feel noticeably smoother afterwards. Sampled at the bath inlet rather than the wellhead.

Dorinozawa Onsen — the cheapest onsen in Tokyo, 0 yen. One bath inside, temperature 39, clear with no smell, water composition shown in the picture. Concrete bath, spacious and deep, sitting in it the water comes up to your chin. A pipe feeds fresh water with bubbles into it. No soap, there are lockers, hot water, and a standard shower. Drink vending machine but no milk. Top-tier experience, especially the location in a very quiet fishing port.
