Chloride
+ Bicarbonate · 含二酸化炭素

A cold-mineral spring (13.3 °C) of mixed sodium-calcium chloride and bicarbonate type, carrying dissolved carbon dioxide. Neutral in pH and moderately mineralized at around 2,004 mg/kg, it is reheated to about 42 °C for bathing. The chloride edge gives a faint salty body, while the bicarbonate side softens the feel; a small iron load (~17 mg/kg) adds a quiet metallic accent.

Seseragi no Toki A higaeri spot in Kiso. Large deep indoor bath, temperature 41 (for the first time I liked the indoor bath more than the rotenburo). Small rotenburo in the women's section with a view of bamboo. The water is originally cold (12°C), heated to 42°C. "Rusty" with carbonic acid content. The rust on the bottom is extreme — heels and other body parts that touched the bottom turned a fun orange color. There's a restaurant, a souvenir shop where you can buy local bath salts (yu-no-moto), and a rest area. Outside there's an onsen stand (free-flowing spring tap). Everything is relatively new and fresh.
