Sessokyo Onsen Kaikan

267. Sessokyo Onsen Kaikan Visited for higaeri at 500 (listed hours 10:00–20:00, except Thu). They stamp the 60+6 Onsen of Shizuoka 24/25 booklet. Used to be part of the Yuragi tegata but they dropped out — the stamp wasn't kept either. Very strong middle-of-nowhere atmosphere. We entered the onsen in daylight and came out when darkness and fog were rolling in from the mountains — very atmospheric. Indoor bath with clear water, temperature 40. A bit stuffy inside, but you can open the window. If you've already made it this far out, the onsen is worth a visit.
