About

Sun R sits in the hills of Misato, Akita, at the foot of the Ou mountain range. The large indoor bath has a wall of windows onto the surrounding countryside, and the outdoor rotenburo looks different by day and by night. The spring water itself is light and smooth on the skin, nothing heavy about it. Both the bathhouse and the attached pool building have their own sauna, and next door there's an indoor heated pool and tennis courts, so the place works more like a small resort than a plain bathhouse (the name Sun R plays on Resort, Recreation, and Refresh). You can stay overnight or just come for the day.
