Onsen are unusual in Okinawa, which makes this day-use complex in Ginowan worth knowing about. The water comes up from 1,300m underground and feels faintly salty and noticeably smooth on the skin. The outdoor bath (rotenburo, 露天風呂) sits in a Japanese garden and catches the sea breeze. Inside you will find a hinoki (cypress) bath, jet baths, utaseyu (waterfall shower), a dry sauna, and a salt sauna with a cold plunge alongside. A restaurant and a lounge with reclining chairs are on site. The complex is family-friendly and tattoos are not permitted.
