630. Manpa Resort, Wakayama ★★ Stayed overnight without meals. Private baths available for 3990 (didn't try). Higaeri for 1540, stated as 11:00 to 14:00. Higaeri meal plans available. They issue Toreco cards for the onsen. Oddity - I booked on the official site through 489 with cash payment on arrival, but they also asked for any bank card. After some translation struggles, they explained it was for "insurance." 1. Outdoor bath under a roof with a great view through a low fence of the bay and the distant opposite shore. The buildings on that shore during the day looked like a background from some retro video game. Clear water. 40.5 degrees in the morning and 42 late in the evening. 2. Indoor area. Breathable inside. 2.1. Large bath with clear water, 41 degrees. 2.2. Small bath with bubbles, 40.5 degrees. Despite the card oddity - a cozy place.
