460. Tsukahara Onsen Kakono Izumi, Beppu Onsen slightly outside Beppu, everything is in separate cottages on the grounds. The surroundings are as remote as it gets, with some small steam vents from the ground nearby (nothing spectacular though). 800 for both public baths, private ones available (didn't take them). Operating hours listed as 09:00 to 17:00. They stamp the Beppu Onsen-do book. They stamp the 88 Onsen of Kyushu book. Indoor old-school pleasant onsen in a separate building. Clear greenish water, temperature 43. Air inside is good. Outdoor bath with entrance in a separate building. Clear greenish water, temperature 42.5. Really great place, recommended for visiting. Hard to reach, but worth it (practically impossible without a car). You get this effect of natural wilderness, but in an organized onsen setting. 01.04.2025
