A weakly alkaline simple thermal spring (pH 8.06, source 49.8 C) — gentle in composition, soft on the skin, yet not boring: the water carries a very faint yellow tint and a whiff of hydrogen sulfide that gives it more character than most simple springs. Lifted at 500 L/min from a drilled, powered well. Listed indications cover the usual simple-spring range — neuralgia, muscle and joint pain, frozen shoulder, post-illness recovery, fatigue relief.
311. Kamigata Hot Spring Ikkyu, Osaka
Super sento with natural hot spring water in the USJ area, 35-50 minutes from Osaka station for 850. Operating hours listed as 10:00-24:00 (except Tue). They stamp the 41 Kansai Super Sento stamp rally 24/25. Has a restaurant, massage, barber shop, and chill zone. Two different bath sets that rotate between M/F — Ki-no-yu and Ishi-no-yu; I visited the second one — review is based on that. Bath photos from the internet, partially match — in the evening the water was less brown and more greenish.
Bath set Ishi-no-yu:
1. Outdoor area.
1.1. First main bath. Clear water, brownish-greenish tint in the evening. Temperature around 40-41.
1.2. Second main bath. Clear water, brownish-greenish tint in the evening. Temperature around 41-42.
1.3. Two barrel baths, water same as main baths. Temperature around 42.
1.4. Two crater-shaped barrel baths with bubbles, clear water with a greenish tint, temperature around 42.
1.5. Large red spherical steam bath, like something out of an anime.
2. Indoor area.
2.1. Main bath, clear water with a greenish tint, temperature around 41.
2.2. Carbonated bath, clear water with a greenish tint, temperature around 39.
2.3. Sauna.
2.4. Cold bath.
2.5. Four electric baths.
Great place — the crater barrels, unusual steam bath facade, interesting water. Plus the baths rotate M/F, it's relatively close, and you can combine it with USJ. Recommended for a visit.
