A ryokan at Yutani Onsen (湯谷温泉, Yutani Onsen) in Aichi, with separate indoor and outdoor baths. The open-air rotenburo is said to be the largest in the valley, and spring water flows unchilled and unrecirculated (kakenagashi, 源泉かけ流し). A foot bath sits on the terrace by the river, and private reserved baths are bookable by the session. The building shows its age, but the quiet, old-school mountain ryokan feel is part of the appeal.
