Misaki no Yu is a hotel bath in Shosanbetsu village, on Hokkaido's Sea of Japan coast. It has a large indoor bath, an open-air rotenburo, bubble and jet baths, an utaseyu (打たせ湯, a standing waterfall shower), a sauna, and a cold bath, plus a reservation-only private family bath. The water is salty with a faint petroleum-like scent, something several visitors comment on. The rotenburo faces the sea, and on a clear day Mt. Rishiri appears on the horizon. There's an early-morning bathing slot in addition to the regular daytime hours, handy for travelers passing through.
