A small inn from the Meiji era at the southern foot of Mount Akagi, tucked into the Kasukawa river gorge. The water is a calcium-sodium-magnesium bicarbonate cold mineral spring, heated for the baths since the source comes out at only 24.5°C. The rock rotenburo (露天風呂) looks out over the gorge and the stream runs right alongside. It's a member of the association preserving Japan's lesser-known hot springs, which gives a fair indication of the vibe: quiet, unpolished, genuinely remote.
