嵐山 祐斎亭あらしやま ゆうときてい
A dyeing art gallery in a Meiji-era building beside the Hozu Gorge in Arashiyama. Run by dye artist Yusai Okuda (奥田祐斎), the building was once a kaiseki restaurant called Chidori where Yasunari Kawabata wrote. The setting above the river is the main draw, especially in autumn when the maples turn.
