A simple thermal spring led by sodium and bicarbonate. At pH 7.8 it is mildly alkaline and soft on the skin, with the slightly slippery feel that places it near Japan's beauty-water family. Lightly mineralized at 361 mg/kg of dissolved solids, it is gentle on the body and easy for long, unhurried soaks.

Senshu Onsen is a large day-use bath complex in Rinku, sharing its building with a hotel next to Kansai Airport. Bathing spans an open-air bath looking out over Osaka Bay and the bridge to the airport, an indoor bath, a cold plunge, and two separate sauna rooms: a dry sauna for men and a mist sauna for women. The water is natural onsen water drawn from deep underground, and visitors often note it leaves the skin feeling smooth. Beyond the baths there's a restaurant serving seafood-based dishes from the Osaka area, a rest lounge stocked with over a thousand manga volumes, massage chairs, and a members' gym that's also open to day visitors. It's become a common stop for travelers passing through Kansai Airport, and in 2026 it was named a meiten (名店) in Nifty Onsen's Hyakumeito (百名湯) ranking.

324. Senshu Onsen, Osaka A modern onsen 15 minutes from Kansai Airport, for 800 to 1000. The opening hours are listed as 07:00 to 24:00. It used to be marked on Google Maps as Aqua Ignis, but recently it is shown only as Senshu Onsen, and I did not see any Aqua Ignis branding. They stamp the Kansai 41 Super Sento 24/25 stamp rally, the name change did not affect that. There is a diner, massage chairs, and a chill-out area. The bath photos online match what it looks like. 1. Outdoor bath with a view of the bay, the water is clear, temperature 39. The fence is humane enough, but it does get in the way of the nice view quite a bit, so in person it feels less impressive than in the photos. 2. Indoor bath, clear water, temperature 40. Easy to breathe. 3. Sauna. 4. Cold bath with blue water. Overall, the place is pretty good, but my expectations from the photos and the Aqua Ignis brand were higher. Because of the fences, the outdoor bath does not quite deliver the view as strongly as it could. There is also a noticeable increase in tourists from the airport. Overall, it is convenient to stop by on the way to or from the airport, but it seems more interesting to go a little farther for a more interesting place. 03.01.2025
