About

Anko no Yado Marumitsu Ryokan (あんこうの宿まるみつ旅館) is best known for its anglerfish (anko, 鮟鱇) cooking, but the baths are a real draw too. Six different bathing options are on offer: a granite large bath, a tatami-floored bath (a genuinely rare setup), the Uchu-buro (宇宙風呂), said to be the deepest artificial bath in Japan at around 1.65 meters, an anglerfish collagen bath developed in-house, and two private kashikiri (貸切) baths available at no extra charge. The salty spring water warms you through and leaves skin feeling smooth. Day visitors can use the baths at midday.
