The star of Ryokan Daikokuya is the Oiwa-buro (大岩風呂), a large mixed-gender bath with 150 years of history. To reach it, you cross the Abukuma River on a footbridge from the main building. The water is clear and gentle, running fresh from the source without recirculation. A separate building holds Ebisu-no-Yu (恵比寿の湯), an indoor and open-air bath fed by a different spring and the only spot on the property with washing facilities. The ryokan is a member of Nihon Hito o Mamoru Kai (日本秘湯を守る会), the association for preserving Japan's lesser-known hot spring inns.
