About

Yakuishi Kur Park Himekayu sits at the western edge of Oshu city with views of the Yakuishi (焼石) mountain range from its outdoor baths. Three separate bath areas draw from two springs: Ishibuchi-no-Yu (石渕の湯) is the original bath from when the facility opened, with a large indoor hall and an adjoining rotenburo; next to it, Bansho-no-Yu (番所の湯) has an open-air tub shaped like the petals of a himekaiu flower, good for star-gazing on clear nights and snow-viewing in winter. A third area, Amazawa-no-Yu (天沢の湯), has a bigger day-use hall with an electric bath. The water from the sulfur spring leaves skin notably smooth and lightly salty.
