The ashiyu is located in the roadside rest area with free parking. From there, there is a great view of Sakurajima volcano. It is a channel with concrete walls and floor, about 60 meters long. You can choose the temperature by sitting in different parts of this long bath. There are sunshades. Sometimes there are many people, sometimes few, depending on the time of day and how full the parking lot is. There is a souvenir shop nearby. The ashiyu is open only during the roadside rest area’s opening hours. When the rest area closes, the water in the bath is turned off and it cools down.
