A sodium-led bicarbonate spring with a chloride sub-type — the jūsō-sen style, with a salty edge layered in. Weakly alkaline and soft on the skin, moderately mineralized at 1,566 mg/kg, it sits in Japan's beauty-water family. At the wellhead the water is faintly yellow-brown and clear, slightly salty on the lips, with a faint hydrogen sulfide note that has already faded by the time the sample reaches the lab. Metasilicic acid at 164.8 mg/kg leaves the kind of silica film that makes skin feel noticeably smoother afterwards.

527. 甲府昭和温泉ビジネスホテル, Showa, Yamanashi Old-school shabby business hotel with an onsen. Stayed overnight. There's higaeri for 700, listed as 06:00 to 22:00 (cleaning 09:30 to 13:00 on Mon, Wed, Fri). Early in the morning there were lots of young guys and girls on higaeri. Bath photos are from the internet, match the real thing. I booked a tatami room, but for those rooms the toilet and sink are shared on the floor. From the room window, Mt. Fuji was visible in the morning. Indoor area. Breathing inside is comfortable. 1. Large bath. Clear water with a brownish-yellow tint. Temperature around 44. 2. Small bath. Clear water with a brownish-yellow tint. Temperature around 40. 3. Sauna (was not working). 4. Two cold barrels. I'd recommend looking for a different place to stay. 10.05.2025 11.05.2025
