A sodium chloride spring with a bicarbonate layer — the chloride side gives heat-retention while the bicarbonate adds a softer feel on the skin. Weakly alkaline at pH 7.6, soft on the skin in the manner of Japan's beauty-water family. The source emerges at 33.1 °C (a low-temperature spring), so the bath is heated year-round, recirculated within the tub only, and disinfected with sodium hypochlorite.

331. Tenpyonoyu Hot Spring, Nara An onsen 20 minutes from Nara Station, for ¥980-1 080. The listed hours are 13:00 to 24:00. The entrance is at the side of the hotel. They stamp the Kansai 24/25 Super Sento 41 booklet. There is a ganbanyoku. The baths are indoors. It is tolerable to breathe inside. 1. Main bath, the water is clear, temperature 41-42. 2. Second bath, the water is clear, temperature 37-38, although it says 34. 3. Sauna. 4. Cold bath. 5. Walking bath, temperature 32-34. Not very interesting, you can skip it.
