Shikama Hirasawa Onsen Kappa No Yu

Kappa no Yu (かっぱのゆ) is a day-use community bath sitting in the farmland of Shikama, Miyagi, run as a rural community center. The main building holds a large hot bath, jacuzzi, walking bath, standing bath, bubble bath, sauna, and cold bath. A separate annex has its own indoor bath and an open-air rotenburo (露天風呂) where the spring flows fresh without recirculation. The water is clear and smooth on the skin. The rotenburo is walled off from any view, but in spring cherry blossoms drift into the tub from a nearby tree. There is also a private accessible bath (Ippo no Yu, 一歩の湯) bookable at the front desk. A restaurant and a large rest hall round out the visit.
