Oku Takeoonsen Kaze No Mori

Every one of the 11 villa-style rooms at this Saga ryokan has its own private open-air onsen bath and wooden deck, set into a forested hillside above Takeo. The water feels soft and faintly silky on the skin, something past guests mention often. A shared sauna looks out over the trees, and a barefoot lounge with self-serve drinks gives couples a place to unwind between soaks. Kaze no Mori takes two adults per room only, with no children under 16, and there is no day-use bathing. Guests stay overnight only and are shuttled by cart from the reception building up the hillside to their rooms.
