Aidomari Hot Spring

A seasonal outdoor bath at the very tip of the Shiretoko Peninsula, as remote as Hokkaido gets. The baths are built from stones right on the beach, with the sea just meters away. The water is a salt spring, and small jets of very hot water seep through the stone walls, so finding a comfortable spot takes a little reading of the pool. Only accessible in summer; buried under snow or storm debris the rest of the year.
