Adult admission (junior high and up) is 1,300 yen; children age 3 through elementary school are 600 yen; ages 0 to 2 are free. A logo hand towel is sold for 220 yen and a bath towel for 500 yen at the front desk. The large lounge is free to sit in, but using it still requires paying the bathing fee.

Hoheikyo Onsen is a big day-use bathhouse a little past Jozankei, built around one of the largest open-air baths in Japan, said to hold up to 200 bathers at once. The water comes straight from the source with nothing added: no dilution, no reheating, no recirculation, so it stays fresh and smooth on the skin. Two smaller open-air baths and the indoor baths sit at slightly different temperatures and swap between the men's and women's side by odd and even days, and there's a drinking-water tap for the spring near the entrance. The bathhouse is just as well known for its restaurant, where fresh-baked naan and curry draw people who never dip into the water at all.
