A simple alkaline thermal spring rising in the Tsurumi district of Beppu. Its mineral load is light, so the water reads gentle and low-irritation, with a soft, rounded feel rather than a heavy mineral bite. The alkalinity delivers the slippery touch that places this squarely in Japan's beauty-water family, and it is backed by an unusually generous 120.4 mg/kg of metasilicic acid, which leaves the kind of thin silica film that makes skin feel noticeably smoother afterwards. The wellhead itself ranks among Japan's hottest natural sources.

About

If you want to go to a sauna, welcome to "Yamanami-no-yu" at Beppu Kannawa Onsen. The large baths of Mountain Bath and Sea Bath each offer uniquely themed bathing areas. In addition to the stadium sauna, there are herbal saunas, salt saunas, and newly introduced the prefecture's first self-serve löyly sauna. Entering the cold water bath cooled by Beppu Onsen's hot spring source leads you to a healing space. Afterwards, please relax and adjust your body by enjoying the outdoor deck and fresh air. There are also eleven family baths, including VIP rooms with private saunas. Relaxation services and Korean-style body scrubs are also available for your comfort.

139. Yamanami-no-yu, Beppu ★ A hot spring complex for ¥630/¥780 depending on the day of the week. Private baths are available for ¥2300-4900 (I did not use them). Opening hours are listed as 12:00 to 08:30 (Mon-Fri) and 24 hours (Sat-Sun). There is scrubbing, a shop, and capsule overnight stays. They stamp the Beppu Onsen-do stamp rally. The bath photos are from the internet, and they match. The photo of the ingredient table is from the internet. 1. Indoor area. It is comfortable to breathe. 1.1. Indoor bath with clear water, temperature 42.5. 1.2. Electric bath area in the indoor bath. 1.3. Jet area with six different sections. 1.4. Cold-water bath. 1.5. Three saunas. 1.6. Scrubbing area (separate fee, done by staff). 2. Outdoor bath. No view. 2.1. Rock bath with clear water. Temperature 39.5. 2.2. Two utaseyu. A pleasant place. On holidays and weekends it can get very crowded with locals, but it handles large crowds well. Sauna fans will especially like it, there are three in the public area, plus a private sauna as well. 02.05.2024 03.01.2026 30.03.2026
