Bathing & Water

Natural onsen water

Uses natural hot spring water

Outdoor BathNo

Open-air outdoor bath

Reviewer confirms indoor-only bathing; the official site's facility list also names only two indoor 大浴場 (惠湯・有卦湯) with no rotenburo mentioned. A Jalan listing at the same address/phone claimed a rotenburo, but its facility text described unrelated spring names not matching this site and was treated as unreliable.

Indoor BathYes

Enclosed indoor bathing area

Capabilities

Private BathYes

Private bath available for day-use visitors or hotel guests to reserve

Priced at ¥1,850 (approx. 50 min) on the site's fee table. One May-2026 Google review reported the family bath was unavailable at the time of their visit ('家族風呂があると聞いていましたが、今は利用できません'); kept the official listing since only one recent review conflicts and the site still lists/prices it, flagged as a gap for confirmation.

Mixed BathingNo

Shared bathing area for all genders

The two baths swap gender by weekday/weekend rather than being mixed; 有卦湯 rotates the opposite way.

About

Yamaidashi Ikoi no Sato Onsen is a municipal day-use bathhouse and multi-purpose facility set along the Sozu River (僧都川) in Ainan, surrounded by greenery. Bathing is indoor only, split across two separate halls that swap between men's and women's use depending on the day of the week rather than being mixed. The water is a faintly alkaline mineral spring, smooth on the skin and without a strong smell. Two small family baths with rock-lined tubs, Sato-no-yu (里の湯) and Mori-no-yu (森の湯), can also be booked for private use. The wider site doubles as a campground and log-cabin retreat under the pines, with a large tatami hall for resting or group stays. The restaurant, Yukatei, runs a Saturday all-you-can-eat buffet of local Ainan produce; on weekdays meals are by reservation only.
