About
Two indoor baths, nothing more, but the water makes people come back. The spring runs freely (kakenagashi, 源泉かけ流し) and overflows so generously that the floor stays wet with a shallow stream of amber-tinged water carrying fine iron-brown sediment. The two pools share the same source but differ in size, so they settle at slightly different temperatures, one on the cooler side and one a touch hotter. Tiny bubbles cling to the skin when you step in. The whole setup is a bare-bones public bath set among rice fields in a quiet corner of Kai City, and has been drawing regulars since the early 1990s.
