Kurosawa Onsen Sakae-no-yado Ichiyokan

Sakae-no-yado Ichiyokan is a small ryokan in Kurosawa Onsen, on the edge of Yamagata City, with one indoor bath each for men and women (no rotenburo, no mixed bathing). Bathers describe the water as soft, warming you through rather than sitting on the surface, and kind to the skin. The building itself feels plain and lived-in rather than polished, with an old-fashioned entryway built around an irori (囲炉裏) hearth table. Day-use bathing is available alongside overnight stays.
