About

Saikatei Jidaiya (彩花亭時代屋) is a ryokan in Kaminoyama Onsen (上山温泉), Yamagata, with a large communal bath called Kurazashiki-no-yu (蔵座敷の湯), done up in a retro style with a small courtyard garden to look out on. From the indoor bath you can step outside to the open-air section. Two private open-air baths are available by reservation: Sakura-sai (桜彩), set around a tsuboniwa (坪庭) courtyard garden, and Keyaki-sai (欅彩), which has a reclining bath and is closed in winter. Several guest rooms come with their own open-air tub, and the Zao range (蔵王連峰) is visible from both the rooms and the baths.
