About

Yuyado Souan has no shared communal bath at all; the five baths are all kashikiri (reserved private), ranging from a stone rotenburo and a semi-open hinoki tub to a gourd-shaped pool lit by stained glass. Every bath runs on free-flowing Yunokawa Onsen water, unheated and undiluted, and guests often note how smooth the water feels on the skin. About half the rooms, in the Shiunkaku wing and the converted old farmhouse annex, come with their own in-room onsen bath. The spring belongs to Nihon San Bijin no Yu (日本三美人の湯), Japan's three springs traditionally known for their skin-softening water. The property sits in a quiet garden setting in Izumo.
