About

Kyukamura Nyuto Onsenkyo sits inside the Towada-Hachimantai National Park and draws from two separate springs, both run as kakenagashi (free-flowing, not recirculated). The indoor baths let you switch between them, while the outdoor rotenburo uses the sulfur spring and looks out over beech forest that shifts from fresh green in early summer to deep color in autumn. Day visitors are welcome as well as overnight guests. It is part of the national Kyukamura network of public resort lodges.

A large hotel, 5 minutes on foot from Taenoyu. Day-use from 11 to 17, 800 yen. The water here is similar to Tsurunoyu. The baths are large (2 indoor and a rotenburo), with a view of snowdrifts and surrounding forest. Convenient changing room with lockers. Plus they have a huge lobby where you can sit and wait for the bus. There were already many people here, so no photos.
