Takitei sits along the Saigawa (犀川) river outside Kanazawa, with an outdoor rock bath (rotenburo) and a foot bath on the viewing terrace both facing the property's waterfall. The shared indoor baths are separate for men and women; many rooms also have a private in-room bath. The spring water is clear and faintly smooth on the skin.
