SimpleSodium-Calcium Bicarbonate spring

A simple thermal spring rising at the Gyokusenkan well in Ebino (Miyazaki), neutral and hypotonic but emerging above 55 degrees Celsius. Mineralization is light at 546 mg/kg, giving a gentle, unobtrusive feel on the skin. Metasilicic acid at 110.6 mg/kg is generous for a simple spring, leaving a thin silica film that places it squarely in Japan's beauty-water family. The water shows a faint brown tint at the inlet but is otherwise odorless and tasteless.

Warmth eases stiffness and raises the pain threshold. Radon and sulfate springs show the strongest evidence for joint and muscle pain.

Bicarbonate and alkalinity gently lift dead keratin while silica hydrates, leaving skin smooth. This is the basis of the beautifying-water (bijin-no-yu 美人の湯) reputation.
