Taketa Onsen Hanamizuki

Ended up here thanks to an hour-long transfer between regional trains from Aso to Beppu. Decided to spend the hour at an onsen. First 3 photos are mine, the rest from Google. There's a big souvenir shop in the same building. Inside there's a large bath with jacuzzi spots, and in the same bath there are electric current spots (got a serious zap at first, thought my back locked up for good, but it was just the electric bath). Another regular indoor bath. If I recall correctly, there's a cold bath inside too. And a nice outdoor bath with pebbles. Glass-bottle milk available. Lots of rest areas. Really enjoyed this break between trains — refreshing and fun way to spend the time.
