Sodium-Calcium-Magnesium Bicarbonate-Chloride spring
A simple thermal spring rising in the Matsubara district of Beppu. Lightly mineralized at 933 mg/kg of dissolved solids, it is gentle on the body, and its mild alkalinity gives the soft, slippery feel of the Japanese beauty-water family. The water is colorless, clear, tasteless and odorless. A generous 207 mg/kg of metasilicic acid leaves the kind of silica film that makes skin feel noticeably smoother afterwards.
