The spring water here runs milky white, a natural sulfur source kept flowing fresh without recirculation. There are both indoor and outdoor baths, and the rotenburo (露天風呂) is sized just right for a highland inn. On clear nights the sky above it is open and full of stars. The surroundings are forested mountain slopes near the Norikura ski area. Tatami rooms and an on-site restaurant round out a straightforward, no-frills stay.
