Tamagoyu (玉子湯) sits in the forested hills of Takayu Onsen (高湯温泉) outside Fukushima city, where the spring has flowed without interruption for over 400 years. The draw is the water itself: milky white, lightly sulfurous, and run entirely kakenagashi (源泉かけ流し, never reheated or diluted). The bathhouse lineup includes the main indoor bath Taki-no-yu (滝の湯), the open-air rock pool Tenkei-no-yu (天渓の湯, which rotates between men and women on alternating days), and a private rotenburo called Sene (瀬音) bookable by the slot. The centerpiece of the garden is the original Tamagoyu bathhouse, a thatched-roof wooden structure that has stood for about 150 years. A small foot bath sits nearby. Day-use bathing is available in two daily sessions.
