Hotel Daiheigen has been part of Tokachigawa Onsen since 1956, a year after its moru (モール) spring was first drilled. The water is plant-derived, tea to amber in color, with a faint herbal scent and a smooth feel on the skin, known locally as bijin-no-yu (美人の湯), a 'beauty bath'. Bathing is split between a large indoor hall with an open-air bath ringed by birch trees, and a second bathhouse with five different water-jet corners and a sauna renovated in 2023 that lets guests add their own steam. The hotel also runs hot-air balloon rides when the weather allows, alongside its main business as a ryokan.
