A sodium-led bicarbonate spring with a chloride layer — the classic 'jūsō-sen' style softened by a salty edge, delivered as a blend of two wells (Heisei #1 and Heisei #4) through a common mixing tank. The wellhead temperature of 74.5 °C puts it among Japan's hottest natural sources, and the weakly alkaline pH gives it the slippery, soft-on-skin feel of the Japanese 'beauty-water' family. A generous 153 mg/kg of metasilicic acid leaves the kind of thin silica film that makes skin feel noticeably smoother afterwards.

Smooth skin

Bicarbonate and alkalinity gently lift dead keratin while silica hydrates, leaving skin smooth. This is the basis of the beautifying-water (bijin-no-yu 美人の湯) reputation.

Warmth eases stiffness and raises the pain threshold. Radon and sulfate springs show the strongest evidence for joint and muscle pain.

Salt forms a film on the skin that slows heat loss, so the warmth lingers long after the bath (the classic heat-keeping water, nettō 熱の湯).
