631 (28). CANDEO HOTELS Nankai Wakayama (NON_ONSEN) Stayed overnight. Day use is advertised at 1200 yen from 06:00 to 11:00 and 1600 yen from 15:00 to 23:00. Located at Wakayamashi Station. The hotel has baths with tap water. Got breakfast for 2200 — buffet style, basic and rather dull. Stayed in a small corner room with a nice window and a wide view. In the morning the glass was slightly foggy and the room got stuffy if the AC wasn't running for even a short time. 1. Outdoor bath with a great view of the river, residential areas, and the industrial zone. During the day the view is underwhelming (buildings look quite plain), but in the evening it's excellent. Not infinity. Clear tap water, slight chlorine smell. Temperature around 40.5. 2. Indoor zone. Breathing inside is fine. Glass was heavily fogged up both in the evening and morning, so no view. 2.1. Bath with clear tap water, slight chlorine smell. Temperature 41. 2.2. Sauna. 2.3. Cold bath. Skin on my hands got "bumpy" after bathing — I assume from the chlorine. Mixed impression: not onsen, chlorine, weak food, ventilation issues in the room, but on the other hand the view is nice, the baths are tidy, and the location is convenient.
